As the NBA wants to institute an off-the-court dress code for their players and as I read the reaction (that some might consider childish) of the players, I was thinking about this issue that is also very delicate in kids sports. I can understand a professional team owner that pays his players millions of dollars wanting them to give a proper image of his team. But what are the reason behind dress code for kids in sport?

Gwen Stefani, lead singer of the pop band No Doubt, has lead a Madonna-esque fashion revolt in both her recent videoclip for her single What You Waiting For and her solo album Love, Angel, Music, Baby. Her catchy 80s inspired popish tunes, platinum blonde hair and Like A Virgin kit out on the album cover art only reinforce her homage to the material girl, even though it may be somewhat tongue in cheek.

Search the internet for support our troops bracelets and you will find thousands of websites selling them. If you were to buy one you would expect some of your money to go to actually support our troops. However, if you dig a little deeper you will find that very few of these websites are donating any money to charity.

April 30th is the day to appreciate hairstyles. In some places it is called Hairstylist appreciation Day. Either way this is something unique. If this is the way to celebrate days, we will begin having appreciate the grass day, appreciate the cities day and so on. But thinking about it, hairstylists do play a big part in making us feel good.
